Amanda and Justin were the easiest couple EVER to photograph. You could just feel how much they love each other.
Amanda’s older sister and I were friends, really good friends, back when we were kids… so I feel especially honored to be photographing her wedding.
When Amanda contacted me about their engagement session, she was really hooked on going to downtown Indianapolis. I knew of several great places downtown that would be a perfect fit for them. We first met at the Starbucks on the circle and started their session by the monument. The monument on the circle had the waterfalls running and it was beautiful; minus the people that were walking on it behind them (I had some Photoshop to do on that). We then moved to my FAVORITE ally in Indy, where several of my favorite shots came from (the images will all the brick and the grey/blue doorway). After the ally we drove over the White River State Park and took some shots on the canal and on the bridge that goes over the canal and runs next to the NCAA Hall of Fame (the building with the flags on the top). Just when Amanda and Justin thought we were done (we had been shooting for nearly 1.5 hours at this point), I asked if they would be interested in doing a couple of pictures in the parking garage of the Indiana State Museum, / White Rive Garden; they obliged. The Parking lot was dimly lit with some light and I really didn’t want to use my flash, or else I wouldn’t get the look I was going for. So I bumped my ISO up to 1000 and went from there! I LOVE the shots in the parking lot, if I do say so myself.
– Jessica L. Green
Greenfield, IN and Indianapolis, IN Engagement and Wedding Photographer
My name is Jessica Green and I specialize in lifestyles photography - families, newborns, maternity. Since I was a child, photography has always been a passion and love. My first camera was a green 35mm that was given to me for my birthday when I was 11-years-old. That week I used all 10 rolls of film and ever since then my love has grown. My mother was a gifted journalist and photographer for the associated press and also did free-lance work, so naturally I knew I was destined to find my way to the industry eventually. I went to school at Indiana University and obtained a B.A. in journalism/public relations, where I studied many courses in photography and design.
Though photography is not a full-time career, it is still a full time passion. I value the creation of a long term relationship where I can capture your memories from the day of your engagement, all the way through your child’s senior pictures, and beyond. Consultations are of the ut-most importance because I value getting to know you, your family and the occasion to best fit your needs, wants and desires. I can help you decide what to wear, what a good location would be for your session, and much more.
As many people who have children know, family photographs can be very stressful for the child. I always come prepared with props, toys and sometimes candy. I love getting the same level as children; it eases their fear of getting their photo taken and brings out their smile. Families are by far the most fun to photograph!
